The Very Important Rules

Welcome to The CATALYST Forum!

This is a public space for CATALYST Ambassadors, partners, and volunteers to discuss all coalition related business. Here are some guidelines for using this forum.

1) What is this place?
This is the CATALYST Forum. Think of this place like a virtual meeting room. CATALYST Ambassadors and partners can post threads relevant to their projects, campaigns, and clubs. This specific subforum is dedicated to Informative Resources. Questions related to online workshops, teach-ins, educational worksheets, news articles, project reports, sample curriculum, and so forth.

2) What isn't this place?
This isn't the place to discuss anything not related to Informative Resources. What are Informative Resources? Informative resources refer to available workshops (digital or in-person), notes from conferences/informational , reports of other projects or your own, curriculum, articles related to service or your project focus, worksheets, and etc. If it's related to academia or education, it's most likely to wind up here.

3) What do I need to know?
For general use, the guidelines are pretty simple. Like a classroom or any meeting space, respect your peers and their ideas. This isn't the place to introduce or discuss potential conflict. We may have debates, but we aren't here for confrontation. Regarding critiques, please post only positive criticism and feedback. Anything inflammatory will be deleted. Now, for a specific list below:

Surviving the Informative Resources Forum
    - This forum is for all Ambassadors to use regarding the development and initial planning stages of their projects and campaigns. Irrelevant topics may be subject to to being moved or locked by the current Moderators. If your topic is moved or locked, talk to a Moderator if you have a question about their decision.

    - Misplaced posts will be either moved, locked, or deleted. If your post is moved, locked, or deleted, you will be notified. Most posts will be moved (unless the post is irrelevant or breaks forum rules.

    - When making your topic, make a topic based on your project. For example, an appropriate thread title would be "Nate's Tree Planting: Curriculum Samples!". Your thread will receive more replies if you list the issue in the title. An inappropriate thread title would be: "Nate's Tree Planting: Need Help!" Threads with inappropriate thread titles will be flagged and the creator will be notified. If the thread creator doesn't change the thread, then the thread will be locked.

    - If your thread is answered, add the tag [ANSWERED] to your thread. A Moderator will then lock your thread.

    - You may BUMP your thread if it hasn't been answered in 2-3 days. If your thread still hasn't received an answer, notify a Moderator ASAP. Nate will try to reply to all requests before you need to contact a Moderator.

    - If you have an announcement or update, contact Nate (ncedilla@excelyouthzone.org) to have your update/announcement approved. Approved updates and announcements will be published the following morning.

Additional Stuff
    1) All posts must be SFW (Safe For Work). Shock images, drugs, liquor, or any other questionable imagery will be deleted immediately. In addition, if we find NSFW (Not Safe For Work) material on this site, we will log your post and notify your parents.

    2) No linking to personal information. Do not post personal emails, telephone numbers, or social networking sites on this website. This is for your own safety. Since this is a public space and you're all minors, we want to protect your privacy. If you need to exchange contact info, do it through private messages. Any posts with personal information will be edited immediately.

    3) No linking to download sites for music, movies, etc. This goes for public posts and private messages (PMs). Not only is this illegal, it also has no relevance to the program. Any posts with torrent/illegal download links will be deleted immediately.

    4) Contact the forum admin directly if you have a question, request, or critique. You can contact Nate (ncedilla@excelyouthzone.org).

    5) Don't make multiple accounts. Keep one account use that one. Your account name will be your first name, last initial only (NateC). This will allow us to identify and speak to one another without having to remember aliases. Additional accounts will be deleted.

    6) No thread assassination. If a thread is bad or needs to be deleted, notify the Admin or Moderator privately. Posting in a thread only pushes it to the top. Do not post in a thread why it needs to be deleted---the Moderators will handle it.

    7) No excessive thread bumping. Bumping is when you post in your own thread to push it to the top. To BUMP, simply post a reply to your own thread. Your thread may become buried, so bumping is acceptable. However, do not BUMP your thread too much. Only BUMP your thread 2-3 times a week. Excessive BUMPing will get your thread locked and put away.

Cool Have a question? Contact ncedilla@excelyouthzone.org for all your needs. Also, talk to the current Moderators. Moderators will rotate on a weekly basis.
