| YSA United HealthHeroes Service-Learning Grant focus: Fighting childhood obesity What is it? UnitedHealth Heroes is awarded to non-profits, schools, organizations, and youth interested in fighting against childhood obesity. The grant will help to fund activities that cater to youth (ages 5-25). Activities will occur during the Spring Semester and will be emphasized on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 16) and Global Youth Service Day (April 20-22). How much? Depending on your project, applicants are eligible for $500 - $1,000. How many awards?The website does not say. However, the grant is nationwide. When is the application due? October 17, 2011 How do I apply?Visit the YSA Heroes website (click here) and scroll to the bottom. You will need take the Eligibility Quiz to see if you qualify for the grant. After that, the website will provide you with an official application.
